 Tribute to Late Dara Akunwafor Mbazulike Amaechi: 



Pa Amaechi was a hero who lived and transformed other lives positively. Over the years, I had admired him from afar until the case of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu brought us together, and I saw in him a man of great wisdom, humility, and full of empathy. 


Papa's last wish was to actualize the release of his  son- Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to which he followed up in words and action. Papa travelled all the way to Abuja, but unfortunately, could not actualize this last wish despite all the sacrifices. Little did we know then that Papa was transiting from us.


It is quite sad and unfortunate that not only was Papa’s last WISH bluntly denied, but the Federal Government of Nigeria treated with greatest disdain and impunity, the Order/Judgment of the Court of Appeal that discharged Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Nevertheless, Onyendu’s release is sacrosanct. 




Papa lived a fulfilled life to a ripe old age and left behind great legacies that will transcend generations to come in the history of our people and our quest for emancipation from our oppressors. 


Even though we wished to have Papa with us much longer, death is an inevitable end, and we can not question the Almighty creator when He calls.


All lives will end in this direction. The knowledge of this is in itself a blessing and also a curse. It is a blessing to those who know how to make the most of their waking moments, not in chasing after vainglory, but in maintaining a sober life, earnestly longing for a city whose streets are paved with gold.


On the other hand, it is a curse to those who believe they are made to enjoy the mundane things of this passing phase of existence, and thus averse to any thing that would remind them of their finitude.


As Papa bowed out of this existence into another realm, we pray that his flight be smooth. May the Heavens show him mercy.


We lost a good man, but heaven gained an Angel!


Adieu, Papa! Till we meet to part no more . 

As we all gathered here from our different abodes to pay you last respect on earth, we commit our journeys back home into the hands of the Almighty ChukwuOkike Abiama.
